In September 2020, this project was selected as part of the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED)'s FY9 Clinical Research and Trial Promotion Research Project, "Project for Establishing a Clinical Research and Trial Network in Asia."
In addition to South Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong, which have had cooperative relationships with the National Cancer Center Hospital until now, ASEAN countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia have joined the group, and the "Clinical Research Platform of Asia, by Asia, for Asia" has begun operations.

The project has been named "Asian clinical TriaLs network for cAncers project: ATLAS Project."

History
About the Project
In September 2020, the National Cancer Center Hospital launched the ATLAS (Asian clinical TriaLs network for cAncerS) project, to establish a clinical research network across Asia supported by the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED).
Building on the network the relationships the National Cancer Center Hospital has had cooperative with Korea, Taiwan, Singapore, and Hong Kong, ASEAN countries such as Malaysia, Thailand, Philippines, Vietnam, and Indonesia have joined the project, growing into an “Asian Clinical Research Platform for Asia, by Asia”.
Project Title
It is derived from “Asian clinical TriaLs network for cAncers project: ATLAS Project”.
